Why 3year olds CANNOT have gum!

First, let me preface this entry by saying how wonderful my husband is. Maybe it is true that absence makes the heart grow fonder. I spent last week at my moms house, it was my first visit back home since moving here and honestly I was not looking forward to it. Not that I didn't want to go home but I was afraid I wouldn't want to come back here. We got back late last week and I knew I needed something to look forward to here, well I immediately started looking forward to church on Sunday, just sitting next to my husband without any kids for an hour is wonderful. Then on Saturday night our oldest started complaining of a sore throat, and he did look pitiful. I decided to stay home with the kids on Sunday a little disappointed. Billy went alone and about the time service was over I got a text from him that said, "will u take a fireproof your marriage class w/me?". Of course! This is the kind of thing I usually have to twist his arm to do and it was his idea! Then he came home with the flowers to the right....and it wasn't Valentines day or my birthday! I missed him last week and I think he missed me too...

Now let me tell you about a constant source of disagreement between us. GUM. Gum has become my enemy, I have picked is out of hair, clothes, carpet, carseats, and toys. I never give it to Abby no matter how desperate I am. Abby is like Pigpen she attracts dirt. Even right after a bath I can find her sticky from head to toe, she is just never clean. This is the child that smeared my bed with vicks vapor rub while I was attending to her newborn sister. So last night just as I heard the water turn on for my husbands shower I hear Bella shriek. "Oh my goodness, mommy come quick" she said. This is what I find.....

Oh yes, it's gum! That was handed to her by her daddy just before he got in the shower.

This was yet another baffling mess that I wasn't sure how to tackle but I handed her a glob of peanut butter and it did the trick. Abby, true to her nature enjoyed the clean up.

New addition

Since our lives just are not full enough we have added a new member...meet Cash our new black lab puppy. We are hoping that Cash will become best friends with Waylon our beagle/bassett mix. Waylon came to live with us as a puppy 5 years ago and has amazing patience with the kids. We knew that with 4 kids we would have to get a puppy not an older dog because they often won't put up with the ear pulling, tail pulling, and just general roughness that comes with little kids. So far, Cash has really taken to daddy and follows him around. Which is fair because Waylon has always been my dog and follows me everywhere.
